LIFE INC- Center for Independent Living
Here at LIFE INC, we are committed to a single goal; empowering individuals with disabilities. Explore our website to learn more about all that we’re doing to make a change. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities remain independent in their own homes in the community.
We are authentically PEOPLE driven- not dollar driven. We truly care about each and every person that we serve.
CONNECTION
Shared Experiences
Staff and volunteers share their own experiences to help others explore options, solve problems, and develop new skills. At least 51% of our staff and board have a disability. We UNDERSTAND the challenges of living with disabilities. We are here to help.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Helping The Community
We are devoted to relevant, outreach initiatives that make a difference. Recent efforts included an accessible playground, assistance for the homeless, food for flood victims, ramps and home modifications, and a pre-employment summer workshop for high school juniors and seniors with disabilities. Why? Because community matters.

Welcome to Desloge
The Desloge Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome you to the City of Desloge and hope that you will find this a fun and friendly place to live!
Desloge is woven between several towns where we all come together with a number of social events and school activities. In the center of town (at Parkside & Walnut Streets), Desloge City Park offers an olympic size swimming pool, tennis courts, picnic tables, barbeque pits, amphitheater, walking/jogging path, and playground equipment. The park is home to the annual Labor Day Picnic featuring carnival rides, bands, crafts, food vendors, car & motorcycle shows and much, much more! Brightwell Park (at Cedar Street & Brightwell Blvd.) features three baseball diamonds for little to senior league baseball and softball.
We are surrounded by a number of State Parks including St. Joe, St. Francois, Elephant Rocks, Johnson Shut-ins, Hawn St. Park, Pickle Springs, Amidon State Park and many hiking and nature trails. There are several area wineries close by. All of these areas are within a 30 to 45 minute drive.
Desloge and Bonne Terre join together to form the North County School District. There are two elementary schools, an intermediate school, middle school and high school, as well as Unitec Career Center (trade school). Mineral Area College is just a few minutes away and also serves as host for Central Methodist College’s satellite campus. Missouri Baptist College offers a satellite learning center as well.
Parkland Hospitals in Bonne Terre and two locations in Farmington serve this area’s health care needs.
The Desloge Chamber of Commerce office is located at 200 N. Lincoln Street. We offer several events throughout the year and invite you to get involved. February is the month for our Trivia Night, May is our Annual Golf Tournament, Labor Day weekend is the Picnic in the Park or more widely known as "The Last Blast", October is the annual city-wide yard sale and December is our annual Jingle Bell Run!
